Yahoo Answers and YPN Integration

There’s news over at JenSense on how Yahoo Answers will soon be integrating the Yahoo! Publisher Network Beta program for contributors to benefit from the answers they post.

In fact, this is somewhat similar to how the Digital Point forums integrate Google Adsense for contributors. Both Yahoo Answers and the DP forums ask contributors to enter their YPN and Adsense publisher IDs, respectively, in order to benefit from their contributions. In the case of DP, forum members that start and participate in various threads will have their publisher IDs entered into some of the many Google Adsense ads that are shown on every page in the forum. writingUp has a similar implementation of Adsense integration - where writers are paid through some of the Adsense ads that are shown on their individual blogs. Even Squidoo will soon be activating a similar payment model.

But exactly how Yahoo Answers will implement YPN is still unknown. But one thing is for certain, if such pay-for-contribution models actually succeed, we might actually see even more of these “social” contribution sites cropping up.
