WordPress Post Editing Bug and Solution
Ever since I upgraded most of my blogs to WordPress 2, I’ve been facing a really annoying bug on some of my installs. In fact, it’s actually only one of two bugs, but at least this one has a solution.
Anyway, here’s what’s happening: I edit a post, but after I save it, the Write Post area doesn’t get updated even though the main site does. I’m not sure if you’ve faced it, but it has cost me substantial productivity since I still like using WordPress’ internal post writing system (rather than a desktop blog editor). Imagine doing a major edit on a post, saving it, and realising you made a typo error. But you can’t return and re-edit that post because the major edit wasn’t saved in the admin area due to the bug. If you do try to edit the post again, you’ll only find the original, pre-major edit post there.
Thank god there’s actually a solution for this. And blur me didn’t notice it until today even though a plugin fix was published three months back. ZZZzzz…
Go get it, and stop hitting yourself with this stick of a bug.
Edit: It doesn’t seem to be working on older posts. But it could just be me.
Second Edit: If the above plugin doesn’t work for you (or if you prefer something more manual), get this plugin which will allow you to manually flush your WP cache when you face The Bug.

[…] With one of two bugs I’ve been facing with WordPress 2+ so far solved, my worries have been cut in half (lol…). But even this lone bug irritates me enough to merit a post of its own. […]
