WordPress 2.0 Theme Design Competition

A WordPress 2.0 Theme Design Competition recently started (15th Jan) over at kcyap.com. The competition will end on the 28th of February - which should be enough time for aspiring winners to prepare new themes or polish original themes that they already have on hand.

Prizes are sufficiently lucrative, with more than enough categories to compete in:

Grand Winner: IPOD Video with 60GB of storage. Sponsored by AlexAllied

1st Runner-up: Sony PSP which comes with 3 types of original games. Sponsered by GameHead Australia

2nd Runner-up: Mobile Phone Samsung E630. Sponsored by I-Phone Network Malaysia.
3rd Runner-up: IBM 24X CDRW/DVD Combo (slim) external

2006 New Breakthrough Design: IPOD Nano with 2GB of storage.

2006 New High-Tech Design: Belkin Wireless G Router with 4-port Switch

2006 New Funniest Design: Prince Webcam Type II

This competition is in the same vein as The WordPress 1.5 Themes Competition that ended last year in March. The real winners, therefore, are we WordPress users who will have tons of new themes to choose from again (140 themes the last time).

Edit: It seems that this theme competition was a scam. Check out the comments below for more info about this.

Hmm, I’ve already linked to the new WordPress Theme Competition, but I admit I’ve not been following up on the old one. I’ll check up on this and remove the link if necessary.

    Thanks for the heads up.

WORDPRESS THEME CONTEST SCAM COMMITTED BY KCYAP ( aka Justin Yap - ahkiong@gmail.com).
The real person behind the posting of daily entries in 2dayblog.com is Malaysian blogger Justin Yap. Justin’s own website is kcyap.com but he committed a wordpress contest scam earlier this year and he is now hiding behind the 2dayblog.com website. His kcyap.com website is now redirected to 2dayblog.com. If you type “kcyap +scam” in Google or Yahoo search box, you can view pages relating to the scam committed by kcyap.
