The ProBlogger’s Income Streams

For some reason or another, everybody loves looking at figures relating to online income. Yes, that definitely includes me. Every time a problogger (or more generally, a web entrepreneur) publishes his or her income information, a jolt of pure pleasure shoots up my spine.

So, when the ProBlogger, Darren Rowse, of ProBlogger.net fame published his April earnings update recently, I dropped everything else I was doing I delved into his blog.

His success has and continues to be a source of inspiration for most of us, with him making over five figures monthly. More inspiring is the diversity of his income sources. While Adsense and Chitika seem to be his top income sources (like many of us), each of them contribute towards less than one-third of his total income.

And the second best part of the whole thing is that his costs are minimal. He states that his total outflow is only around 10% of his income, and that covers one blogger on revenue share and one advertising manager.

So, what’s the best part? His figures are earnings only across his personal blogs. It doesn’t include earnings from b5media (which includes ProBlogger). Of course, at this point in time, his personal blogs surely constitute the bulk of his income, but when b5media passes that critical threshold…

Now, this is the sort of motivation the doctor ordered!
