Increase in Transparency in Professional Blog Design Pricing
Professional blog designs were once not only luxury items (and still is, and should be BTW), but also mysterious things which had their costs shrouded from the public eye (a.k.a. the average blogger). After all, having to ask for a quote can be pretty daunting.
But with a kickstart from Chris Pearson early last month, it seems that this is starting to change. For example, we have base prices of US$1800 from Pearson himself, US$2500 from Javier Cabrera, and ~US$3000 from The Blog Studio - who have also given a set of reasons why prices can vary so much.
And if Chris Garett Media’s (is this the same Chris Garett at Performancing? lol, probably not) new 499 project (via Blogging Pro) is anything to go by, up-front pricing seems to be the new marketing strategy. And now that prices are all in the open, cheaper prices to attract those shell-shocked from the $XXXX prices quoted earlier seem to be the result. Chris Garett, for one, is just (think comparatively) charging a fixed £449 (or around US$830) for a complete blog design - from homepage to search results page.
So, now that you know how much a pro design costs, would you go for one in the near future? Think about it after reading SEOBook’s take on the benefits of paying extra for good blog design.

Thanks for the mention, always appreciated
I’m actually not the Chris Garrett from Performancing, although people often think I am. I didn’t realise my prices were so much lower than others, I just charge based on what I need to make in the time a project would take me.

[…] This follows a breakthrough post (yet another one) by Chris Pearson who outlines a new way of looking at blog structures - which is then discussed by Aaron Brazell at ProBlogger and highlighted by David at Blogging Pro. (yes, this is one heck of a link list - this is why, and this is why I told you why). […]

Hehe, I thought so.
Keep up the good work, though it must be said that “need” is a very subjective factor.
