Handling Spam on Your Blog Software
I just realised a couple of hours ago that I started a series on tackling spam for individual blog platforms in early July (via a mix of plugins and/or built-in functions), but never created an index page for it, nor continued past Movable Type and WordPress.
So, this post shall serve as the index for the Handling Spam series (yep, yet another incomplete series), which I hope will motivate remind me to complete, or at least, extend the series!

I’m afraid there doesn’t seem to be any external software to handle spam on Blogspot.
For now, the best way to handle spam on Blogspot is to turn on Word Verification (a.k.a. CAPTCHA), and perhaps even turn Moderation on. In a worst case scenario, you might want to restrict comments to only Blogger members.
But I’ve to admit they all seem pretty nasty (usability and admin effort) compared to switching to WordPress, and running Spam Karma 2 and/or Akismet and Bad Behavior 2.

With the last one we get the permalink to show if no target is given. However, IF one is given, the target URL is issued attached to the permalink URL. Any ideas what we’re doing wrong here? Thank you in advance!
