Free WordPress Hosts

WordPress’ functionality and ease of use for single blogs is probably unrivaled at the moment. So, for those who want to create a full featured blog for free, WordPress would be an excellent choice.

So far, these are the free WordPress hosts I have found.

  • WordPress.com – No advertisements placed on blogs
  • Blogsome – Optional advertisements (i.e. can be removed)
  • Blogthing – Google text ads placed on blogs, signups current disabled
  • Weblogs.us – No adverts, but signups currently disabled
  • MyBlogSpace – No adverts, but you only get http://myblogspace.net/username (rather than a subdomain like username.myblogspace.net)
  • theBlog.cc – Google text ads placed on blogs
  • Bloggoing – No adverts, provides 150+ templates
  • Globbo – No adverts (only have to link back), provides 50mb space for your choice of blogging platform from a number of different choices, including WordPress
  • BeBlogger – Small Google text advert, up to 100mb uploads of pictures and pdfs
  • edublogs.org – No adverts, for education professionals only
  • uniblogs.org – No adverts, for college/university students only
  • learnerblogs.org – No adverts, for students only
  • evilsupergenius.net – No adverts, for evil super geniuses (…not too sure about the theme for this one)
  • WordPressBlogs.com – No adverts, seems to be for test driving only (since they offer Blogsome as a more permanent choice)
