Content is Dead and Resource is King
Damn right. But no, not that definition of “content”. We’re talking about what Brian Clark defines as “…something that simply fills empty space in a receptacle.”
A pity the quote isn’t mine (as you would surely have guessed
), but the brainchild of Dan Zarella, who states that Teaching (a.k.a. providing a resource) Gets You Links. It might not apply in every situation, but it’s a truth you can’t ignore.
You probably already knew that though. That’s why we are all advised and taught to write “how to”-type posts. And that’s also one reason why I’ll forge on with my Using WordPress as a CMS series – as time-consuming as writing it may be.

Yup, very true. I only have four how-tos on my own site, but they get at least 40% of my traffic. The good thing is, we’re still allowed to write the occasional rant here and there. Right?

hey, thanks for the link.
Perhaps I should have said “for linking building purposes: content is dead and resource is king”

Nah, it does extend to more than just link building. Besides, you might have jeapordised the impact of your quote.
