Chitika Running Adult Ads?
Seen “adult” Chitika ads on your blogs recently? Well, I haven’t, but a few have been caught (with screenshots and all) over at JenSense.
Jen has blurred the screenshot thumbnails to remain family and work-friendly, but you can click into the screenshots to see some “uncensored” screens. As a commenter notes, it’s nothing particularly “adult” given Chitika’s intention to move into the more “accepting” European market, but bad enough that you wouldn’t want them on your kid-friendly blogs.
But IMHO, if you use Chitika ads like many, if not most bloggers out there, it’s unlikely any of these will suddenly drop onto your blogs. Why? Because I think most of us run Chitika ads under fixed keywords that we define, i.e. non-contextual mode, to prevent breaking the Adsense Terms of Service (TOS) and to increase ad relevancy.
Unless, of course, you’re running your ads under the “Books” or “Magazines” keyword. ![]()
