BlogCharm: Free Blog Host With Pay-Per-Impression
I no longer log in much to BlogExplosion, probably due to the lack of time recently. But exactly 3 and a half hours ago, I received an email from BE with details of BlogCharm - BE’s very own free blog hosting service. With a free trafic exchange system, a free traffic counter service, and a free blog image host, I suppose a free blog hosting service was only a matter of time for BlogExplosion.
What’s different about this free blog host is the pay-per-impression model that they’re incorporating into it. Not only are you allowed to run Adsense on your personal blog, you get this as well:
BlogCharm will pay members by splitting all advertising inventory and sponsorships.
- On member blogs the top thinbar will contain text ads where members will share 50% of the inventory and revenues generated from them. This will be a mixture of paid ads where members get paid each time their blog is seen and not just when somebody clicks on an advertisement which works much differently than programs like AdSense. Each time your blog is seen you get paid !!
- BlogCharm even goes further to make money for members where we split site sponsorship revenues 50/50 as well.
I believe this payment model is somewhat similar to the one Blogit is running. The only difference is that Blogit requires a membership fee for both readers and writers, and it is this membership fee that gets distributed 50/50 (rather than the adverts).
Well, I can’t say it’s better than the standard Adsense implementation (i.e. your publisher ID is entered into adverts on your blog) because tracking fraud probably becomes much more difficult under a pay-per-impression model. When pay-per-click through Adsense is used, fraud cases become more difficult as Adsense has gained a reputation for being a strict programme.
Anyway, the BlogCharm programme is still in beta. Therefore, the pay-per-impression model has yet to be activated. But, BE is advising members to start posting already to build readership in preparation for the payment model. If you are interested in this sort of pay-to-blog scheme, I would suggest you consider BE’s advice.

[…] I’m impressed with the degree of research put into this, but I really wish this list was written a week ago when I blogged on BlogCharm’s implementation of revenue sharing last week as it would have saved me some explaining in that post . […]
