Absolute Beginners: WordPress - Introduction
What would you teach an absolute beginner to WordPress? I’m talking about the true neophytes - those that have never ever touched any blogging platform, whether Blogger or Typepad. In what order would you teach the various fundamentals of WordPress? How much should you teach in each session?
While many might accuse me of judging newbies overly harsh (and indeed, there’s some truth there given WordPress’ user-friendliness and simplicity), there are those that really require step-by-step guidance when it comes to new software. Off the top of my head, I would point to non-techy adults - those one generation past the current IT age - that are willing to learn.
So, I’ll be starting a series of posts - you could call it a guide, perhaps - on a detailed learning plan for absolute beginners to WordPress. We’ve seen a more advanced Blogging for Beginners series from Darren Rowse at ProBlogger. His guide is one that fits most internet users out there, but it’s far more comprehensive than what I intend to do with this Absolute Beginners series. You’ll should probably be able to summarise my entire series as “Beginners Guide To Blogging With WordPress”.
But I’ve yet to finalize how many posts this series will contain. Each post will probably be of above average length due to screenshots, so I’m currently thinking of 5 or 6 posts.
